From  1969 - 1984 the programmes operated as Canadian Save the Children Fund 

In 1990 the programme was localized and was under  the direction of a Board of Directors.  Funs were made available on a declining basis.

In 1995, Save the Children ceased funding to all the winward Island Programmes.

The  challenge now was to move the programme from welfare to self dertemination  and self reliance.
